U.S. Supreme Court puts gay marriage in Utah on hold

The U.S. Supreme Court has put a temporary stop to gay marriages in Utah while the state appeals.The federal judge who green-lighted same-sex marriage in the heavily Mormon state last month — allowing some 900 gay couples to tie the knot — had refused to issue a stay.
