McMaster researchers find possible treatment for celiac disease

Researchers at McMaster University have discovered the molecule elafin could lead to new therapies for people with celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder best characterized by gluten intolerance. They say treatment with elafin would strengthen the stomach lining in celiac patients.
