A memorial service for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Okinawa was held at the Battle of Okinawa Peace Memorial Park in Okinawa, Japan, on June 23, 2020. The battle started on April 1, 1945 when U.S. forces swarmed the shores and would be one of the longest battles of WWII.
