High-priced specialty drugs spur calls for competition

Mary Lee, Medill News ServiceWASHINGTON, April 15 (UPI) -- The latest trend in health care is the rapid escalation of high-cost specialty drugs such as the Hepatitis-C drug Harvoni, which costs nearly $100,000. Dozens of patient advocacy groups gathered for a congressional briefing at Capitol Hill saying that this model is unsustainable in the current health care system.
