China puts hold on nuclear power approvals

BEIJING, March 16 (UPI) -- Amid concerns triggered by Japan's nuclear crisis, China's State Council said on Wednesday that it would suspend the approval of new nuclear projects, including those in the pre-approval phase, until new safety rules were revised, state-run news agency Xinhua reports.
