Big Mars Impact Gave Earth Most of Its Martian Meteorites

A huge meteorite impact on Mars was so powerful that it blasted a bunch of Red Planet rocks in Earth's direction five million years ago. The cosmic crash is the source of all "shergottite" Martian meteorites found on Earth, researchers say.
