Despite much research in the last decades, the genetic causes whyanimals have such different longevities remain largely unknown mostly becauseageing results of such a myriad of factors that to identify single gene’seffects is almost impossible. But now a study just published in the journal AGEmight help to change that as researchers Pedro Magalhães and Yang Li from theInstitute of Integrative Biology, University of Liverpool in the UK unveil anew approach, the molecules linked to longevity already identified by thisapproach and which include proteins involved in DNA repair and also in theclearing of abnormal proteins. read more
