Fundamental unit of cell size in bacteria discovered

By applying mathematical models to a large number of experiments in which bacterial growth is inhibited, a team of physicists, biologists and bioengineers has developed a 'general growth law' that explains the relationship between the average cell size of bacteria and how fast they grow.
