A clinical trial is underway testing stem-cell therapy to improve blood flow in angina patients. The trial evaluates treatment for patients who haven’t responded to other FDA-approved procedures for angina. The procedure uses the latest technology to map the heart in 3-D and guides the doctor to deliver injections of a patient’s own stem-cells or a placebo to targeted sites in the heart muscle.
