Improving Postoperative Quality Of Life In Gastric Cancer Patients By A Special Reconstruction Method

Postoperative quality of life (QOL) is the main outcome for judging the efficacy of treatment modalities when no overall survival differences are demonstrated in patients with gastric cancer. A research group investigated the QOL of gastric cancer patients who received proximal gastrectomy with three methods of reconstruction. Esophagogastric anterior wall end-to-side anastomosis combined with pyloroplasty was shown to improve QOL than esophagogastric posterior wall end-to-side anastomosis and esophagogastric end-to-end anastomosis.
