'The society of the future will be even more knowledge-based than the present one. For that reason it is not only necessary to create the appropriate infrastructure, but also to ensure that existing knowledge is suitably prepared and made recognisable,' explains Prof. Hans-Joachim Grallert, Head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute HHI. In a joint project, entitled THESEUS, 31 German companies, universities and research institutes have banded together with the aim of enabling the improved use and exploitation of digital knowledge.
