In one county, farmers who had expected great harvests face a grim reality after the hurricane. Their fields have been shredded, with wilting leaves on stalks angled by winds.Before Hurricane Irene smacked his tender tobacco plants sideways, David Parker was headed for a terrific crop, maybe his best in 32 years of farming.
