Nobel winner dies before receiving prize

Ralph Steinman, who passed away Friday, will still receive his share of the award because the Nobel committee did not know of his death. He and two others are honored for their work with the immune system. Dr. Ralph M. Steinman was a creative and dogged researcher who spent years convincing a doubting scientific community that he had found cells that were key to the working of the immune system.
