Searchable books database 'fair use' of copyrighted works: court

Creating a full-text searchable database of millions of books is a fair use of copyrighted works, a U.S. federal appeals court ruled Tuesday, responding to a lawsuit brought after universities let Google scan and create a repository for more than 10 million books.
