Patterned pulses boost the effects of deep brain stimulation, research shows

An electrical procedure used as a sort of defibrillator of consciousness could benefit from a more complex pattern of pulses, Rockefeller scientists say. The finding could help doctors more effectively treat conditions such as epilepsy and coma.
