Temperature Change Reveals Lunar Rock Size

Different sized rocks cool at different rates. Scientists can use this property to determine mass and density. During the June 2011 lunar eclipse, the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will gauge the cooling moon to better understand the lunar surface.
