Last week I was a little reluctant to write about anything other than the Japan earthquake; somehow, it seemed insensitive to write a post on anything completely unrelated to the disaster. I'm changing the subject now, however, for two reasons: first, I don't really have anything to add to the media coverage of Japan, and second, a lot of that coverage is focusing on the safety of nuclear power, which is a political issue. (Ugh, the toxic stench of politics!) Unfortunately, my last post strayed uncomfortably close to the political arena as a result.
