Mental Illness: A Personal Perspective...continued

My personal beef, isn't with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists or mental health workers per se. Most of the psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, social workers that I have known, for the most part, have been very kind, tolerant, caring, understanding and supportive people. At least that's been my experience. Oh I know, there are exceptions to the rule and believe me when I say I have had more than my share! But, that's beside the point. My beef is with the pharmaceutical companies whose motives are far from altruistic. On the contrary, their prime motivation, and I'm talking about the corporate heads of these companies, is profit and nothing more. read more
