Researchers from the Department of Languages and Systems and Software Engineering at the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid's School of Computing have developed a prototype metropolitan quantum key distribution network that will be ready for deployment by Telefonica on any Spanish urban telecommunications network by 2010.
