Scientists are turning the Moon into a giant particle detector

Super-rare particles such as the Oh-My-God particle are detected on Earth at a rate of less than one per square kilometre PER CENTURY. So scientists want to turn the Moon into a giant particle detector to increase their chances of spotting them.
