Grid Confronts a Threat from Mother Nature

A report issued by the Department of Energy and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation lists three categories of threats to the North American power grid: coordinated cyber- and physical attacks, pandemic disease and electromagnetic and geomagnetic damage.
