Jupiter-bound Juno probe encounters glitch after Earth flyby

NASA said its Jupiter-bound spacecraft was stuck in protective safe mode soon after it used Earth as a gravity slingshot to hurtle toward the outer solar system on Wednesday. The Jet Propulsion Laboratory said the Juno spacecraft was in contact with Earth, but was returning a low rate of data.
