Volcanoes may cause drastic temperature shifts on distant super-Earth

Forty light years from Earth, scientists have found an extreme planet where the atmospheric temperature was observed swinging wildly from 1,800 to 4,900 degrees Fahrenheit over the course of a two-year period.
