Study finds 1,000 species of bacteria on healthy humans

A report for the journal Science says the bacteria have evolved to exploit the attributes of the areas they colonize. Researchers also say the bacteria probably enable the body to function properly. Here's a finding that'll make your skin crawl: A healthy human epidermis is colonized by roughly 1,000 species of bacteria.
