Californians have much higher levels of flame-retardant PBDE in their blood

Researchers find that residents not only have more PBDEs in their blood than people elsewhere in the U.S., but that California homes have as much as 10 times more than elsewhere. Californians have twice as much of a flame-retardant chemical in their blood and as much as 10 times more of it in their homes than elsewhere in the country, researchers are reporting.
