New DNA research may help conserve threatened rattlesnake species

UBC Okanagan researchers have been sampling the DNA from hundreds of western rattlesnakes in B.C. in an effort to protect the threatened species. Their new research has found genetic differences between rattlesnakes in the different ranges they sampled from.
